Next time baby, I'll be bulletproof

I hung out with my friend Anna again today and we watched "The Mist." You know, the horror movie based off the Stephen King novella, the horror movie about giant mutant bug and octopus/elephant/dinosaur things killing people, the horror movie where the end is so horrible it's terrific? You haven't watched it?!

Well, for your sake, I hope you don't watch it and then go home and find a bug on your window. Scared the crap out of me, I thought it was going to rip my knee cap off.
The purse has a snake "clasp" (even though it doesn't open or close) right on the front. I wasn't sure if I was going to buy it but this unique aspect makes me love it. Plus, it holds my entire life.
As much as I love these boots, they are a pain walking uphill. You can't bend your ankle much so you're basically stomping, which is the most elegant thing to do! But I absolutely love that they're in a size ten, makes me feel like I have small feet!

Either way, your work is done

So today was a good day - I went to Winners with my friend and her sister and bought a big purse (with a snake clasp, too cool! shall premier soon), ankle boots and bathingsuit shorts. This whole "no shopping" thing really isn't working for me.

Also, I'm thinking of getting a new header - either one from my "Where the wild things are" post where I'm laying on the rock or from one of the photographs from tomorrow. If any of you are good at that sort of thing, would you ever want to make me one? Totally random, I know, but it would be so helpful! Or any kind of header, let your creativity run wild!

I'll be forever grateful!

Centennial

It is my one hundredth post! Never thought I'd make it this far but I'm glad it's been done and wanted to thank everyone who reads the blog! I was going to hold off until Tuesday to post a new purchase but it may not happen so I decided to show you all my wishlist, since it is my 100th birthday.
A pair of studded peeptoe boots for $46.90 off the Alloy online store. I think they're just splendid - the perfect balance between girly and rough n tumbler - and would go with most of my wardrobe. I'm a size eleven, incase you were wondering (yes, I said a size eleven! And yes, it is hard to shop for shoes!)
Denim shortshorts from American Apparel in a vibrant red/orange colour, going for $50. Tad expensive (although it is AA, what's new?) but they'd be so handy! Must check out that situation.
Meeting the man behind this tattoo.
Topshop sequin leggings. I don't know if the store in the US of A ships to Canada or not, but if they do - make haste! These seem slightly uncomfortable but would look amazing, especially at night. In a bush. Scaring people.
BOO!
If you've been reading for awhile, you know I like the half-shaved look on girls. And, goodness, Rihanna looks splendid! I want hair like this so bad but I'd also like courage so it's not going to happen.
THE ALDO SHOE - this was the purchase I mentioned! Originally $125 (and I almost bought them), down to $59.95, these bad boys will be mine! Actually only about 2.5 inches high (look much higher on), the mesh ankle strap is to die for. So comfortable, so versatile, so beautiful. As said in Four Weddings and a Funeral: "You are my north, my south, my east, my west." Indeed, you are my everything.

Where the wild things are

So remember that "super awesome" thing I was talking about? My friend, Anna, and I did a photoshoot - here it is! Enjoy.
And she meets her mortal enemy...

I'll follow you until you love me, I'll be your paparazzi

So remember I told you I had something special planned for Wednesday? It might be postponed as it's supposed to rain for all of tomorrow -and it must be done outside- but I'm seriously hoping it won't as it will be spectacular!

And has anyone seen the movie "Pay it Forward?" I just rewatched it and, my goodness, it still amazes me! Incase you haven't, it's about a little boy who starts a whole movement - someone does a selfless act to you and in return, you do three huge acts of kindness to three different strangers. Pay it Forward, John Q, and Titanic may be the only movies I can see countless times and still cry. I love when a movie has the power to actually arise some sort of emotion out of you.

We'll talk about it when you get back

I know, I know, I've been a really bad blogger. Inconsistent, not many fashion-related posts. I swear it'll go back to normal... at some point... I'm just working a lot lately (so on those days I sleep in as much as possible, wear pajamas all day, then switch into a uniform) or otherwise just trying to have a fun summer! Sorry, although on Wednesday I'll be posting something I think might turn out incredible and/or funny so "stay tuned!"

Here are a few pictures that I love no matter how corny they seem. Remember the "treat someone as you'd like to be treated" or "it takes less muscles to smile than to frown?" Yeah, they're like that:

Once again, Harry, I must ask too much of you

Saw "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" today. I'm not going to give anything away, but it wasn't quite as exciting as I had anticipated and they left something out (I won't say what!) - but let me just say you'll realize it when you watch it. It was definitely a lead-up to the last ones (the seventh book is being made into two movies, hence the plural term) but that's ok. Ron Weasley aka Rupert Grint aka My Future Husband was looking damn fine. Mmm!

I wore this, as I am a Gryffindor (took a quiz, it said so!). Sorry for the bad pictures, it was very "click and run." The suit jacket, which I've fallen in love with, is from Jacobs, pants are from H&M and sweatervest is an AA classic.
Even my make-up was Harry Potter inspired; gold eyeshadow with deep pink blush (pretending to be red) as liner and a tad of black.

Have a great weekend!

Living in two worlds

Is there such thing as too thin? Too big? And if so, what is it? Is someone's ideal body frame someone else's nightmare?
I think the fashion industry has a lot to do with the way people perceive their own appearance. Once, curvy and shapely women walked the runway but were instead replaced with stick-like figures so more attention would be paid to the garments and less to the women. Is it strange that so many people work to look like nowadays' model when they were put there because they were gaunt and shapeless?

And more importantly, should we care?

You've got a smile that could light up this whole town

(Aritzia dress)
These past few days, I have:
-Attempted red lipstick (as seen above)
-Gone to a swing club and danced with a man called Stewart. Stewart wore all women's clothing
-Watched a movie about an ex-hitman turned baker
-Become addicted to Taylor Swift
-Made one too many bad jokes and had to explain a few
-Slept with a winter cover on my bed with my fan on to cool me down
-Smiled harder than I can remember
